What is Sweeter than Tupelo Honey?

The locals would say, “Nothing”! Gulf County is best known for our beautiful beaches, the dead lakes, and TUPELO HONEY. This sweet liquid gold is harvested in the spring of every year. The honey bees gather their sweet nectar from white tupelo trees that bloom along the Apalachicola and Chipola River basins in Gulf County. Our county is host to the largest concentration of white tupelo trees in the world making our area one of the best places to enjoy Tupelo Honey.

Port St Joe Salt Air Farmers Market


The Port St Joe Salt Air Farmers Market is held on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays starting in February thru the first weekend of December at City Commons located on the corner of Reid Avenue and Highway 71. Local farmers and artisans sell their food and artwork. Local farmers feature fresh produce, grass fed beef, shrimp, Tupelo Honey, and delicious baked goods. Local artists and vendors will display their art and handmade crafts. Market hours are from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Two great Christmas Events will be held in Port St Joe this Saturday, December 4th from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.  The weather is looking good for the last Port St Joe Saltair Market of the year this Saturday, Dec 4th, 9am until 3pm located on Reid Avenue.  Enjoy the Christmas market with 35 vendors and live entertainment by The Port St Joe High School Band of Gold at 11:00 am.  The Port St Joe Garden Club will be hosting their Christmas in the Garden Celebration at the Garden Center located at 216 Eight Street in Port St Joe from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.  Both events will be offering unique homemade gifts, baked goods, and something for everyone.
