Live Music, Nature Experiences & a Low Country Shrimp Boil on Florida’s Forgotten Coast

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to enjoy the natural beauty of Florida’s Forgotten Coast, mark your calendar for the Winter Bay Day Celebration hosted by Friends of St. Joseph Bay Preserves on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Held at the St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve in Port St. Joe, this annual community event celebrates the unique ecosystems, wildlife, and outdoor lifestyle that make St. Joseph Bay one of the most treasured natural resources in Northwest Florida.

What to Expect at Winter Bay Day

Winter Bay Day is designed for all ages and blends education, outdoor adventure, and coastal culture into one memorable day.

Event highlights include:

  • Natural science exhibitors and demonstrations

  • Walk-and-Talk birding field trips

  • Guided tram tours through the preserve’s backwoods trails

  • Live music throughout the day

  • Low Country Shrimp Boil (11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. EST, $15 donation)

Guided preserve tours will be offered throughout the day at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m., giving attendees an up-close look at native plants, birds, and wildlife that thrive along St. Joseph Bay.
